Max Payne Eep Multi Mod (c) 2001 Eepē (http://tnlc.com/eep/) ____________________________________ Features: - Level select based off Dr. Mangel's level selector mod but has the chapter titles (+ descriptions), no bloatware TGA menu image (purely for the original author's ego), which reduced the mod's file size by over 900K(!), and has the missing part 3 chapter 3. The redundant tooltips and the "Load" text (duh) were also removed, and levels.txt's formatting was streamlined a bit. - increased decals: 1 million (room), 100,000 (dynamic object); what I want to know is why Remedy didn't make decals disappear incrementally instead of just stopping them :/ - 1st-person view: with no crazy rotation distortion and doesn't hang the game when objects are activated unlike another first-person view mod; now also with wider field of view (FOV) so it doesn't look as closed in--thanks to thomas.sahling@epost.de for the suggestion. This should've already been in the game as an option--if anyone can figure out how to use the console and/or map to a key a way to switch between 1st- and 3rd-person views, I'd like to know! - unlimited bullet time: it's just too cool to only have for 15 seconds at a time - shoot-dodge mode doesn't drain bullet time: see above 9/2/1: - added wider FOV - removed bullet time heartbeat: gets annoying after a while... - no red screen flash when damaged: also gets annoying - reduced walk backwards acceleration speed a bit - increased use trigger angle - increased maximum steepness angle (Max couldn't even climb step ladders--come on...plus he can walk up snow hills and even angled wood planks now) - increased screenshot size to 320x240 (standard ratio) - tweaked sound position a bit so it's more centered and volume consistent (still not right, but seems a little better) - increased vertical lookat rotation limit ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ To use this mod, simply copy it into Max Payne's root directory (C:\Program Files\Remedy\Max Payne\ by default) and choose "Eep Multi" from the pull-down list. Note: this mod only affects new games and not existing saved games (unless saved with this mod or with any of the same mod changes). If someone can create a "mod editor" to take parts of some mods and combine them into a single mod (or a way to increment-load mods in-game per the menu and/or console) that would be just spiffy and not make modifying Max Payne and using mods such a "payne". Thanks. Max Payne rules! To see how it compares to other 3D games, check out my 3D game comparison at http://tnlc.com/eep/compare.html.
