Hi Bart,
Yeah, got the 3d interface off the ground, started off
great, can view the 3d room and select area, been banging
my head against the wall the past 3 days on getting the
item meshes in, I was going to just use a special texture
to id the items placed but wanted to try to get it built
correct the first time. I was also going to use just
stock display list items(maybe a cylinder for enemies,
sphere for pickups, etc.)Then I decided to try to grab
the actual meshes and place in the room (way it should be)
Got one mesh of item okay but messing up when getting the
remaining meshes of the item. Gotta check Popov's code to
see how he read the lists. Still hoping something up by
this weekend.

I threw the cd track thingy on the old one, aint put it
together yet. Like I said, I can only get the TR2 to work
w/ cd.

Once I'm able to pull the item meshes okay. I can bring
in the static meshes, whose problem is there is no id system
for them, would just have to show which ones available and
let the user choose.

Trying to cludge in the color selector, went to grab one
off the net but most are not geared to RGB only so have to
rework them a few hours to fit them in. The main reason I
wanted to go 3d so fast is for the lighting, which I see now
is going to be a real guesswork type of thing (opengl lighting
and TR lighting are totally different)

Sprites should be the easiest once can place in 3d.

The library is the reason for TRitem. However I think
Popov will come out with something before I could. I kinda
stopped on the library for the past month or so. My coding
skills are not up to the level on 3d yet. I have been able
to do one object ( the collapseable floor -7 meshes)
But putting it in the level is a nightmare!

Hopefully I'll get the 3d up this weekend, if not I'm
going to post an update on the 2d one anyway. I'll post
on the eep bbs when up.
