well, Iīm not far enough in this stuff but it might be that there is a prob with OpenGL. Think that RView terminates immediately if there arenīt any OpenGL drivers for your card at all. So the last thing that comes me in mind is replacing the drivers of your gfx card. There are loads of cards out there that have problems with this stuff. I have an Elsa Victory 2 (Voodoo Banshee based) and remembered some probs I had with some early version of a OpenGL based render software. After replacing the display drivers all went ok.
If you still have problems withc access violations maybe Turbo can help you.
