: Hi everybody,

: does anyone know how many types of blocks, slopes and-whatever are existing in TR level format or being supported by the engine? Itīs hard to check them in original levels with TRitem and itīs even more harder to recognize them during game play. The more I think of the more I believe that 'they' used some kind of plugin for a CAD or 3D modelling software.

TB, from what I recall of seeing the old screenshots of their
level editor on Eep's page, it is.

the collision detection room is "prettied up" quite a bit
in a 3D modeler.
new room models are "placed over" the collision detection
and saved as the new room.
So, insted of Lara running up a series of stairs, the
model artist chose to turn these into an
"upward plane"
hence the comments about Lara sometimes "going into a wall
or floor" in the TR games. that's what that is; it's the
re-model showing it's "flaws" (I don't mind!)

My Rant againest some of the TR4 rooms?...
they got "lazy" & didn't bother doing this,
so that the rooms are "squarish" unlike the best of
early TombRaider room modeling.

I will try to re-release Return to VilcaBamba level
in a few weeks.
besides added rooms, it now has *all extra meshes removed*.
the game is now "flicker-free" , it's a beaut! and
I figure, that's probably how they do their's also...
