: I looked back at the Room Editor screenshots and saw it looked pretty much like our editors. Have a look at this and then read below
: [image]http://tnlc.com/eep/tr/developmentindia.jpg[/image]

Yes, i already saw all screenshot from Cores'room editor,
I noted on in just one top/down view for put triggers,
and they use colored tiles for especify something, for example
blue tiles mean there is a trigger in that tile, etc. also if there is
a solid floor or wall. (My top/dow view was based on that pictures).
But i don't see where the floor/ceiling height and room faces are edited,
i don't think that the 3d view is for solid editable , maybe just for put textures
and ligths, (seems that lights is defined using blue spheres).
I guess that the room are modeled in another program and the editor is just
for puting all stuft togeter.
When i feel tired, sometimes a load those photos and look at they
then my energy get charged again. :)

: Rview and TReditor can be implemented both in TReditor 3d. This is done in the original also.
: Editing the structure and then directly be able to change textures and add lights... WOW
: If you are coding TReditor 3d, please build the interface like the way in the screenshot.
: Below a color selector, right a texture window, right top a top-view of the room (and three selectors; top view, front-back, left-right) And left the 3d view.
: This way original TReditor are Rview 3 build-in the new Treditor 3D.

Well, defenitly will be a TReditor 3d, i almost have ready the design (not the especific code, just a prototipe),
but i have already coded the Opengl library that i will need (Rview 3.0 was coded with this new library)
but i have to say that i delayed that project each time that i have a excuse,
because I expect for it killer bugs, Opengl lacks and severals hard problems that make coding not
fun, i expect hard long coding nights for this especific project.

The TReditor 3d will look similar to Rview, but not exactly the same.
for Rview is ease to render already optimezed modeled rooms, but for
treditor the thing are a litle different.
treditor will need to re-build faces each time that a click happen.
There WILL NOT EXIST back-front, left/right or top/down view,
just 3d real-time room render, two rooms rended at the same time for
especify correctly the portal attrib and the portal view, the rooms
can be rotated and zoommed like in rview, and some textures & lights can be
real time applied; like in actual treditor each floor/ceiling can have just 4 textures and 4 ligths data;
so rview will be used to put properly textures & lights, and yes maybe
i will put in menu to Open the whole Rview.
So don't worry, i promess you that treditor 3d will be a
GREAT, ease-to-use tool to build the rooms, no more "guessing" on in.
also, because i will code the program in my funky pentium 166, if the
editor work well, will work beter in your computer.

: TRitem 3d should be added in it too... If that was possible we will have exact the original Room Editor!
: Please think about this interface, and maybe contact Roy for working together (allthough I think it won't ever be like that)

Of curse that work with Roy will be a GREAT HONOR, but the mainly problem
was pointed for me some time ago, I like to program in
object Pascal langauage only, (if someone want to hire me, i program in BASIC, FOXPROLAN, DELPHI,
ASSEMBLER. and i am NOvell 3.11 manager :). Roy use C++, so we can not share source code, (too bad!)
I know some basic C++, but i am not expert on in, and i don't want to espend time learning right now,
so there is no way to work in the same source code for now.

But maybe Roy and Me should have a talk, so i can tell
him on what feature i want to work and vice, so this way
we will not spend time working in the same feature.
Like Roy said me, it is a releaf when the whole work
is divided. (btw what happen with your Sound edit?).

Thank you very much Bart for stay so close checking all
aspect and pointing us what we need, realy your help is
great.

Turbo Pascal.
